Your time can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
Have YOU got skills and interests to share? Do YOU want to develop new skills and interests? Do YOU want to keep active in your community? Have YOU got a couple of hours a week to spare? If the answer is yes, then why not become a Lakers volunteer? We couldn’t do what we do without the amazing people who give up their time to help our members and their families.
Lakers needs volunteers to help support and develop its programme of activities for our 400 members ranging in age from 5 to 70. From leadership roles to offering your motivational support, we have the perfect volunteer opportunity available for you.
By volunteering for Lakers, you’ll be making a real difference to children and adults with an intellectual disability, as well as meeting new people and potentially learning new skills. Volunteers come from all walks of life but they share a common trait – wanting to help others.
As a new volunteer, you will be interviewed, and then fully supported by our volunteer manager and team. You will be encouraged to take part in training opportunities within Lakers, Special Olympics Ireland and various sporting bodies. You will also have some guaranteed fun!!
