Sensory play is a new activity in the club and has been a great success this summer term! Taking advantage of the warm summer weather, the classes have been taking place outside, allowing for lots of messy play!
Each week there is a mix of activities for the members, but a couple of favourites are the sand and water, bubbles and ball pit. So these have made weekly appearances! David has mastered his water pouring skills over the weeks, he is able to perfectly fill the water to the brim of the cup without any spilling out! Really impressive stuff David!
Last week the members played with rice and cooked spaghetti (that was dyed for a pop of colour). The rice was in bowls for them to feel dry or mix it with the water. And the spaghetti was in bags to be squished. The tunnel was also brought out this week and Fionn took the opportunity to make it his own little reading nook! This week shaving foam was introduced and Radiant was a big fan! She spent the class mixing the shaving foam with the rice, making her own little potion! After all the excitement in the garden, the members had the chance to relax in the sensory room. James was a big fan of the lava lamp and spent his time in the sensory room unwinding watching the colours flow and change.
