Graham and Mark are keeping our Lakers members on their toes!
Every Wednesday at 2pm if you take a wander through the corridors in Lakers you will be greeted by our Keep Fit group hard at work in the Main Hall. This week they were being out to the test with a hard circuit that included a medicine ball throw, kettle bell weights, squats and a battle rope workout! Take a look at the pictures and you can see how hard they were working!
3 reasons why you should be keeping fit!
- Physical activity produces brain chemicals that can make you feeling happier, more relaxed and help with any anxious feelings. Want to boost your mood? Or need to destress after a hard day? A gym session, brisk walk and even an easy home exercise can help. You could feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.
- Struggling with your sleep? Regular exercise help you fall asleep faster, get better sleep and even deepen your sleep. Just don’t exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be too worked up to get any sleep
- Exercise is very important in building and keeping strong muscles and bones. Things like weightlifting can help muscle building when paired with adequate a proper diet. As people get older, they can lose some muscle, which can lead to an higher risk of injury. By doing regular exercise you can reduce muscle loss and keeping you strong as you get older!
