Our teen members were cooking up a storm in the kitchen this week! Our under 18’s cookery class took place on Monday with 3 of our wonderful teen members. They worked on not only 1 but 2 recipes. The first dish was savoury crepes which had a yummy chicken and mushroom filling! The second dish was sweet American style pancakes. The class began with chef Niamh discussing health and safety in the kitchen and of course important hygiene steps that needed to be taken. The members then suited up in their Laker’s apron and bandanas’ .
Our 3 members this week focused on techniques that helped in making their yummy pancakes and crepes! Chopping, mixing, whisking and frying were part of the techniques used as well as flipping their pancakes with a spatula. They were able to enjoy their tasty creations after they were finished cooking. Lakers definitely has three master chefs in the making!
