Summer is well and truly here and with that comes a favourite Lakers summer activity – Sailing!
Lakers take to the sea from the middle of June until the end of the summer programme with teachers and
support from our amazing friends in Bray Sailing Club. Every summer these guys are out full of enthusiasm and talent to help anyone who chooses to learn in a safe and supported space. Our members study all things sailing – gaining skills and confidence all while enjoying a dip in the harbour – which over last few weeks of heat must have been bliss!
This summer there are two sailing programmes on the go – ‘Lakers at sea’ which is for our more experienced members who have done sailing before.
The guys with Bray Sailing club volunteer their time each and every week and think of everything. Volunteers are linked up with like minded members to make for a fun and social experience whilst also learning about sailing and the sea. It’s a one-to-one ratio, each members has the full attention and support of one sailing pro (or more if they’re lucky). There is also a rescue boat maned by the lovely Martin and let’s not forget about Jack and Anna – the incredible brains behind this activity.
